Should I Get the Flu Vaccine?

Each year the flu kills 36,00 people, mostly from complications of the flu (CNN). Flu season lasts from late fall to early spring. Symptoms of the flu include fever, chills, cough, sore throat, runny nose, body aches, headaches and fatigue. Treatment for the flu: rest, fluids, stay home and get the flu vaccine. Prevention: hand washing, covering your cough and get the flu vaccine.

The flu vaccine is recommended for all people over the age of 6 months that don’t have any contraindications (CDC).

You can not get the flu from the flu vaccine. The vaccine is made from an inactivated virus. The nasal spray vaccine is made from a live, weakened virus.

Protect yourself, your loved ones, and the public at large by getting the flu vaccine.
